Oakley’s new glasses including $4500 C six

Interbike is always one of the coolest times of the year for the cycling community. I’ve been wanting to write on this for some time, but have only gotten around to it now. I have known for a while that Oakley was releasing a bunch of new watches and eyewear at interbike, but until now there weren’t great pictures to follow up. The new line includes several new women’s glasses in both the lifestyle and sports category. They also released the Dispatch, which is a funky casual glass for me. Oakley revamped one of their most popular pieces of eyewear, the Gascan, and came up with the Fuel Cell. The Fuel Cell features etched lines on the side with new colors making it a sure hit among consumers.

Of course the most popular item was the release of the carbon fiber Oakley C six. This glass will be released in very limited quantities (50 pairs) and has a retail value of $4500. Rumor of this sunglass was started several months ago when Lance Armstrong rode in an unidentified (now we know it was a C six) pair of glasses on the final stage of the 2009 Tour de France.

An aluminum version of the C Six will also be released and will retail for $1500. The C Six is the latest in Oakley’s new Elite collection of eyewear. This eyewear is designed to be groundbreaking in both design and function. They come with a unique faceted O icon and currently include the C six and the pitboss.
